Along the Treeline — 1/35 Scale WWII Infantry Diorama
This piece captures a squad advancing cautiously along a wooded edge, using natural cover as they move forward. The composition emphasizes movement, spacing, and directional flow rather than static posing.
The terrain was constructed to create a natural corridor between vertical tree elements and uneven ground. Moss textures, earth layering, and subtle elevation shifts were used to guide the viewer’s eye through the scene.
Figure painting focused on tonal contrast and realistic fabric variation, with muted field colors balanced against the darker woodland environment. Each soldier was positioned intentionally to suggest communication and coordinated movement without overcomplicating the scene.
The goal of this build was restraint, allowing posture, spacing, and terrain to tell the story.
