How Commissions Work

A clear, deliberate process designed around meaning, accuracy, and presentation.

Overview

Each commissioned piece begins with a short inquiry to determine whether the project is a good fit in scope, timeline, and intent.

I work with collectors, military units, and institutions to create one-of-one display pieces developed deliberately from concept to final presentation.

STEP 1
Inquiry

The process begins with a short commission inquiry outlining the purpose, scope, and timeline of the project. This helps determine whether the project is a good fit.

STEP 2
Review & Consultation

If the inquiry is a good fit, I’ll follow up to discuss the concept, level of customization, and overall direction. At this stage, scope and investment range are confirmed.

STEP 3
Design & Build

Once approved, the project moves into development. Each piece is built deliberately from research and composition to painting, terrain, and detailing. Updates are shared at key milestones.

STEP 4
Final Presentation

The completed piece is finished and prepared for display. Depending on the project, this may include a custom base, display case, or plaque to ensure it is presentation-ready.

What to Expect

  • Limited availability

  • Custom timelines based on scope

  • One-of-one pieces (no repeats)

  • Projects reviewed individually

Not all inquiries move forward, and timelines vary depending on scope and availability.
